Week 20: A New Dress / Crochet Flower Tank Top
I’m excited to show off my completed dress made from a up-cycled duvet cover! (This was the project I cut out on the day that Tilly and I got to sew together). It’s comfy, it’s cute, and it also smells like fabric that has been sitting in an op-shop for many years so…. to the washer it goes!
Progress on the crochet flower tank top has been… pathetic at best. I’m not sure that I love it or not, but the only way to find out is to finish it. My inspiration photo is of a person wearing a flowy, puffy, voluminous, long sleeve shirt with the crochet flower tank top layered over it (pictured below).
Source: Pinterest. Side note: how good is the leather necklace she has on?!
Every time I imagine myself wearing it (or awkwardly try on my half finished project) I picture it over a tank top dress and it just doesn’t look right. I don’t currently own any tops that resemble the shirt from my inspo photo so this might have to be a piece that I manifest into my wardrobe via my sewing machine or via my credit card. haha!
In other news, my detachable crochet collar has become one of my favorite neck-warming accessories, especially since we have been experiencing some chilly days here in Sydney.
My Pottery-going outfit from last night. I made some really beautiful mugs at the pottery studio that I’m really excited to share with you in the next post.
