Hi friend! Welcome to Morthunder, hopefully during your time here you feel inspired to create something that brings you happiness and encourages you to learn new skills!

Week 17 : Pottery, Fabric Chain, Flower Tank Top

Saturday (April 25th) was a truly beautiful day, the sun shone brightly, the air was crisp. I laid a thin black table cloth over my beautiful modern, slightly-weathered outdoor table and a friend of mine and I caught up while we chipped away at some pottery projects; myself figuratively, Katlyn literally. Her pieces were small pots she had thrown at the studio and picked up before bisque firing so she could literally carve and chip away at them to create beautiful inscribed messages and details into the actual body of the clay rather than just the surface.

I completed under glazing a few more mugs and also decided that I didn’t quite know what I would do with my initial number of 16 mugs so I may just stop at 8 and be happy with them… Unless they look so good (or bad) after firing that I get inspired to complete the set of 16 because 8 just isn’t enough! We will see.

Anyway, our time together was so pleasant and in-the-moment we forgot to snap a photo

I also made great progress on my Fabric Chain Link Count Down! I followed the advice of an incredibly vibrant, creative, and inspirational young woman I support on YouTube and Patreon called Carly B to arrange my chains 2 at a time. Meaning, two of the same color in a row before moving on to the next one and I think it looks rather nice.

Due to the size of the chains, I think I will keep the number of links to a lower number than I originally thought, as I don’t want to have to drape it over anything when it is on display as I feel it makes it look crumpled and less attractive to look at. I’m slightly taking the side of form over function this time around, which feels nice because I am usually hesitant to surrender utility for the sake of looks.

I also added many flowers to my flower tank top and began assembling it!

Here are some highlights from my Week:

  1. Getting an ultrasound on some lymph nodes behind Iggy’s ear and getting a healthy report back!

2. Taking Tilly to Get Acai

3. Taking the kids to church on the train and seeing this impeccable view of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House from the train station!

4. An inspirational Pottery form

5. Donating Plasma for the first time with my smart, witty, stunning friend Louise

6. This beautiful Art Deco building in a particularly First Lady Mamie Eisenhauer shade of pink

7. Seeing the afternoon sun hit my kitchen in the most ORANGE tone to date!
